Ohta wins the Worlds! - the World Championships 2024 -




Hitoshi Ohta, who was the runner up for the last World Championships, is now the No.1 in the world.


The final day (second day) of the Speedgolf World Championships at the Speedgolf Worlds Week 2024, in which a total of 80 players from 13 countries around the world played, was held on the 15th at the Seven Hundred Club in Sakura City, Tochigi Prefecture, and Ohta won the general category and was crowned the World championship.


He made a comeback on the second day with a score of 73 strokes, 43 minutes and 4 seconds, and an SGS (Speed Golf Score) of 116.04, becoming the first Japanese player to win the World Championship. Bernie Smith (New Zealand) followed in second and Robin Smith (New Zealand) in third place.


Liz McKinnon (New Zealand) took the lead on the first day and won the women's category. Muguna Haga from Japan came in second, while Marko Kuningas of Finland won the senior category.


Luke Willett and Luke Bone (UK) won the general division of the ISGA Team World Cup. The Japanese team of Tatsuya Shinmoto and Ota came in third.
